Description:

This tour starts from the ancient porcelain making capital of Jingdezhen in Jiangxi, from there, you shall explore the beautiful rural villages of Wuyuan before you set foot on the Yellow Mountain - famous UNESCO heritage site with granite peaks surging through the clouds.

While the world’s finest porcelain comes from China, China’s finest porcelain comes from no where else but Jingdezhen. Located in Jiangxi province, Jingdezhen had been producing porcelain since the Eastern Han (AD 25 -220) period. During Jing De period of the Song Dynasty (AD 1000), the town then named Changnanzhen became an imperial-decreed porcelain capital, thus it got it’s current name Jingdezhen (town of Jing De). Today’s Jingdezhen still holds it’s place as China’s ceramics capital, and one can retrace the history of China’s porcelain production by visiting the porcelain museum, imperial kiln ruins, and the large ceramics exhibition demonstrating the techniques used to make the different styles of porcelain. There are plenty of shops and markets selling porcelain in Jingdezhen, and whether you’ll buy or not, it is still an interest to witness the trade of close to two millenniums still thriving today.

In Wuyuan County, you will see some of Eastern China's most beautiful rurual landscapes. Many of the villages are of hundreds of years old, with residential homes dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You will see the village houses with tall white washed walls and black roof tiles, as often depicted in the traditional Chinese ink paintings. These stately houses are typical of Hui style architecture from Anhui province which depicts the rich culture of the Hui scholars and merchants. At last, the tour will come to its climax in the most literal sense as you find yourself at the peak of the Yellow Mountain, in awe of nature’s wonderful creation.
