Yangshuo and Long Ji Rice Terraces
"We had so much fun during our trip to Yangshuo and Ping"An. It is truly beautiful down there. We arrived in Guilin but only stayed there for the night. The morning after, we took a bus (1.5 hour ride) to Yangshuo. Our hotel was located just in front of the Li River and, as the city is quite small, it was easy for us to reach the crowded West Street to have dinner at night. We rented bikes and electric scooters to explore the countryside and we also sailed the Yulong River on a bamboo raft. It was an amazing experience because we were the only tourists in that area, it was so quiet and relaxing. From Yangshuo, we then took a bus to Longsheng. The trip was a little longer (4.5-hour ride) than we had expected. Our guest house in Ping’An came to pick us up at Longsheng bus station and we arrived in Ping"An village in late afternoon. Wow! the view from our room was fantastic. And the village is so nice and quiet. The next morning, we visited Longji rice terraces and met people from Huang Luo, a Yao minority village. Unfortunately, our plane was leaving Guilin in late afternoon so we didn’t have much time to visit. The best solution would have been to stay two nights in Ping’An to see other villages and enjoy the tranquility of that area. It was not our first time dealing with Red Gate China Travel Service. This trip was affordable even in peak season (October holidays). Both hotels were nice and staff employees even spoke some English. The best part of planning a trip with Red Gate is that Jenny is always available to suggest activities and answer your questions. She also provided us with a detailed itinerary in which the important information was written both in Chinese and English. We will highly recommend Red Gate travel agency. As a matter of fact, two of our friends already contacted Jenny to organize their trip around China."
